100% Clearance at Shrewsbury.

The first sale of the season for the British Blonde Cattle Society sold to a top price of 3200gns at Shrewsbury Livestock Market held on Saturday 4th March and a total clearance prevailed.


Taking the leading price was the January 2021 born bull entry, Bickley Sausage, shown by Tim Owen of Malpas, Cheshire. Sausage, a son of Bickley Guiness and out of a Bromfield Taurus daughter, had been shown successfully through the 2022 show season. He was successfully purchased by Messrs Baylis of Shifnal, Shropshire.



Following at 2500gns was the next entry which was exhibited by Thor Atkinson of Ulverston, Cumbria. Newland Savona, a 16 month old bull is a son of the noted Ark Maverick sire and is bred back to an Ogre homebred daughter. Savona was purchased by Messrs Elkin & Son Ltd of Hilderstone, Staffordshire.


The two heifers offered for sale consigned by Phil Marsden of the Lowercroft herd based near Derbyshire both sold for 2000gns and were both purchased by Messrs Powell & Son of Churchstoke, Powys. The first to sell was Lowercroft Savana, a daughter by Lowercroft Orlando, and the second heifer, Saharah, was sired by Lowercroft Oakley.


Averages: 2 bulls £2992.50 and 2 heifers £2100.00.
