Virtual on-farm competition, Heifers born in 2018
It’s that time of the week again… time for some results.
Thanks must go to Rolf Schneider for judging this strong class of 2018 born heifers.
Results and Comments from the Judge.
This was a large class of cattle to be judged. I have to say it is a little harder for me today than usual. Therefore, dear breeders, it is always important that you take good pictures on which your animals present themselves in the best possible way. In this excellent class, I came to the following result.
1st Prize: Lot 2, L Corner, Lucyland Orchid.
This heifer only convinced me on the last picture. Here I really like the strong top line, it is perfect, with the beautiful length and the excellent muscling. The matching head completes the picture. However, I would have liked a nicer set tail head, but for me the number 1 in this class. Congratulations
2nd Prize: Lot 11, L Laird & Sons, Lochhead Olive. Pure harmony. I would give this cow the highest grade in type and is an excellent heifer. Beautiful in the back, perfect head, and in her front quarter. Also very beautiful hindquarters but I would have hoped for a little more. As you can see, it's not an easy decision for me today. Congratulations on this great animal
3rd Prize: Lot 15, A Walker, Gleniffer Ophellia. I also like this beautiful, long clean heifer very much today. The rear part is nice to look at, which I think is very perfect down to the rear leg. The typical "blonde head" completes this picture. Also the width in the front and back makes the heart beat faster. Everything is right here. Congratulations to the breeder.
Finally, I want to say that these 3 animals are all different but I am sure that they will be a step forward in breeding for every single breeder. They are and will be perfect breeding animals.
Well done to everyone who took part.
