Gleniffer Jazmine was awarded the Championship honours in the Blonde ring at the Royal Highland show, exhibited and bred by Alan Walker from Auchinlech, Ayrshire. Jazmine born February ’14 sired by Maidenlands Guy won the Scottish Blonde club cup for the Junior cow class before receiving the Brownhill Perpetual Challenge trophy for the Champion Blonde animal bred by the exhibitor Judged by Leanne Workman from Larne, Northern Ireland.
The Easterton Blonde Perpetual trophy for the Reserve Champion Blonde was awarded to Shanvalley Mona, bred and exhibited by Savage Brothers from Ballynahinch, Co.Down was born January ’16 sired by Seaview Barney.
Junior Blonde champion was awarded to homebred Brownhill Opal, who lifted the Neils trophy after being awarded the North of Scotland Blonde trophy for the Junior heifer class. Bred and exhibited by John Hope from Strathaven, Lanarkshire. Opal born May ’18 was sired by Hallfield Illinois.
Intermediate heifer Gleniffer Nicola lifted the Aberdeen and Northern marts trophy. Born September ’17 sired by Hallfield Fanfare again bred and exhibited again by Alan Walker was of the same dam as stablemate Jazmine which was homebred Gleniffer Flower.
Senior cow Hackleton Ibis exhibited by Sean and Aiden Mitchell from Skelton; Penrith lifted the Hayton Trophy born December’13 sired by Druk Elijah.
Intermediate bull Hutton Oli again exhibited by Sean and Aiden Mitchell. Oli born May ’18 this time sired by homebred bull Hutton Harry lifted the Semex C Trophy and was also awarded the Male championship to the delight of the Mitchell family for whom it was the first time exhibiting at the Royal Highland show.
The Withybrook trophy for the Senior bull was awarded to Forthview Nemo born March ’17 sired by Freefield E-Tay bred and exhibited by James Campbell from By Linlithgow, Blackness.
The exhibitor bred pairs was won by James Campbells pair with John Hopes pair standing reserve.
