South West Blonde Club Dinner- Saturday 11th November.

The South West Blonde Club will host its annual Dinner and Presentation evening on Saturday 11th November 2017 at The Waie Inn, Zeal Monachorum, Near Crediton, Devon. Sarah Glories does work placement with the Society.

It has been a pleasure for us as a Society to have been able to host French Student Sarah Glories over the past two weeks. Sarah is currently Studying a Higher National Degree, specialised in Animal Production, at The Agricampus La Roque, in Rodez. Over the past two weeks she has spent time with a number of breeders, been to the society sales and has spent some time in the office. We wish Sarah every success with her course and look forward to building links with her and fellow members of the French Society. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has hosted or helped with Sarah's trip over the past two weeks and wish her a safe journey back to France.

The dispersal of the noted and highly successful Kinaston herd of Blonde cattle following the untimely death of Roy Kinnish resulted in brisk and feverish bidding throughout from a massive crowd of buyers from not only the locality but from all countries in the United Kingdom. Top call of the day came from local breeder GR Needham, Kinver, Staffs for ‘Kinaston Greylace’ – a 6 year old cow by Doncombe Sebastian with a June born heifer calf at foot by ‘Kinaston Henry VIII’ - the cow had previously won Junior Champion, Royal Welsh 2013 and was secured at 5,100gns. Messrs Needham were strong supporters at the sale buying a total of 14 lots with next highest priced female on their account at 3,10

The complete Auriva catalogue showing some of the best French genetics is now available to download by clicking the Auriva logo at the bottom of this page. The society are currently looking at options for members to purchase semen from French AI bulls and hope to release details of this later in the year once we have everything finalised.

N.I Blonde Herd Competition.

The 2017 Competition, kindly sponsored by Gormley Motors of Dungannon, provided a packed itinerary in July for Judge Mr Dessie Greene of the Scauchmolin Herd, County Wexford. The Herd Competition was divided up into large and small categories. Mr Greene was also on the lookout for individual animals to award Best Cow and Calf, Best Stock Bull and Best Senior Heifer. Large Herd Winner: Drumraymond Blondes, Large Herd Runner Up: Ivaniskey Blondes. Small Herd Winner: Ballygowan Blondes, Small Herd Runner Up: Drumnafern Blondes.
